Isaac Ropp's Bio

Born and raised in the All-American City of Salina, Kansas, Isaac Ropp, 33, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in 1998. He fell in love with Portland in the summer of '98 while traveling the West Coast running golf tournaments for the prestigious American Junior Golf Association. His night job was as a bartender at Harry's Bar and Tables in Kansas City. Figuring he could sling drinks anywhere, Isaac and his golden retriever Bo dropped everything and hit the road for Oregon. Soon after he acquired an internship at The FAN and the rest was history.

The Ropper made his name as a hammer 20/20 sports anchor and sidekick for The Herd with Colin Cowherd in morning drive. Meanwhile, he co-hosted Sports Saturday and is credited with creating, developing and growing Portland's first-ever live/local baseball show, Baseball Today, into a smashing success.

Then, the day of reckoning. A door cracked in the afternoon and Isaac seized the moment overwhelmingly winning the listeners vote on the website. Isaac Ropp was named lead afternoon drive host September 25, 2006. He's helped drive the time slot to never-before-seen levels with an intellect, wit and sports knowledge Portland has come to trust. He can even be funny from time to time although we ask you not to count on it.

Together, he and Big Suke have produced the best ratings for the afternoon timeslot in station history. Isaac covers the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers.

Isaac Ropp resides in Southwest Portland with his better-half Danielle and her better-half, Meatball. He's adamant about never having children of his own citing their disruptive, selfish and ungrateful nature. His tool belt is the phone book. He loves any form of gambling.
