Week of March 8th
Monday- The tournament is a little over a week away, but the biggest college hoops buzz around here, is the report that Ernie Kent will be fired once the season is over. Isaac and Suke will check in with Tom Ward, Sports Director at KVAL in Eugene who broke the story for the latest details. Plus Stockwatch; are the Lakers vunerable, what's up with Big Ben, and is Joel Przybilla's NBA career over.
Tuesday- The madness continues as we touch base with Washington Head Basketball Coach Lorenzo Romar, and Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson. The Huskies face the Beavers in the quarterfinals at the Pac-10 tournament and some prognosticators think UW can still get into the tournament. We'll have a gameday report from our FAN Blazer insider Joe Freeman as the Kings invade the Rose Garden, and Laura Kristi stops by with the 2nd round of cuts on WANTED: Adventure Host at 3:45pm.
Wednesday- Before we completely lose ourselves in March Madness we get a little spring training primer with the editor of Baseball Prospectus, Will Carroll. Just how do the Mariners look in the AL West this year, and can anyone knock off the Phillies in the NL. Tom Ward of KVAL-TV back with more breaking ducks news as LaMichael James will reportedly head back to court Friday to change his plea. Then at 4:05pm Bill Frieder former College Basketball Coach at Michigan and ASU will be on the call of the Pac-10 Tournament and joins Isaac and Suke for a preview.
Thursday- How would like to be headed for the playoffs one day, and the next be mired in obscurity. Isaac and Suke will ask former Blazers forward Travis Outlaw that very question when he joins Primetime at 4:05pm. At 4:30pm Don Banks covers the NFL for Sports Illustrated, and discusses his latest mock draft plus where might Derek Anderson be headed. Plus Joe Freeman is on the road with the team in Golden State for their TNT game against the Warriors.
Friday- Trying to figure out who the last four in and out are. Isaac and Suke turn to our resident bracketographer David Mihm, for the latest word on #1 seeds and bubble teams. Then former Blazers guard and current Raptor Jarrett Jack joins Primetime as Toronto visits Portland this Sunday. And don't forget Primetime is off early today for the Pac-10 Semifinals beginning at 5:45.
