Portland's Party begins when the Rose Festival's waterfront activities kick off on May 24 at 5pm for Memorial Day weekend. The Opening Night RoZone Fireworks Experience presented by Pacific Power on Friday night features a dance party & concert by Hit Machine in the RoZone and a huge fireworks display synchronized to great music. Take a ride on the Sky Diver - it's retro and it's back! Not only is it looking better than ever, but it's as fun as you remember too. Make time for a Rogue Rose Festival Ale and catch the area's hottest local bands on stage inside the new Pavilion at CityFair, an intimate new concert venue. We're open all day on Memorial Day, May 27, too - bring the family out for a holiday tradition!

The second weekend of CityFair begins with free admission on Thursday, May 30. Waterfront Park is packed with fun and entertainment from start to finish, with more local music featured on the Pavilion stage, and get tickets early for the country-western party in the RoZone on June 2 featuring Little Big Town. Rose Festival CityFair / Tom McCall Waterfront Park / June 6-9
It's the last chance to visit Portland's Party Place - Rose Festival CityFair - and to ride Sky Diver & all the thrilling, family-friendly Funtastic carnival rides at Waterfront Park. It all starts with our second free admission day on Thursday, June 6, and a special second fireworks display - the Grand Floral Fireworks - on Friday night, June 7. Fleet Week is a highlight this weekend along the waterfront sea wall, and the amazing all-floral float creations from the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade will line Naito Parkway on Saturday afternoon and Sunday for up-close viewing, punctuating a rosy end to Rose Festival Waterfront activities.
PGE/SOLVE Starlight Parade / Downtown Portland / June 1
Starting at 8:30pm, the night will light up with one of the Portland Rose Festival’s brightest traditions, the Portland General Electric/SOLVE Starlight Parade! More than 250,000 spectators will stake out a spot in downtown Portland for a front row seat to this sparkling spectacle. There are sure to be some Portland-style surprises, so be sure to stake out your spot! The Starlight Parade is televised live on FOX 12.
Fred Meyer Junior Parade / Sandy Blvd - Hollywood District / June 5
Kids of all shapes and sizes decorate their wagons and bikes, dress up their pets, toot their horns, and beat their drums as they follow Fred Bear starting at 1pm down Sandy Boulevard in the Hollywood District in the oldest and largest children's parade in the nation. Look for special features this year honoring World Environment Day, which also happens to be on June 5. The Junior Parade is televised live on FOX 12.
Queen's Coronation presented by Pacific Power / Veterans Memorial Coliseum / June 8
The Queen's Coronation marks the culmination of a rigorous judging process and travel schedule for the 15 talented young women on the Rose Festival Court. Inside the Memorial Coliseum prior to the Bank of the West Grand Floral Walk and Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade, the Princess are introduced, and reigning Queen Kate Sinnott will hand the envelope with the name of the 2013 Queen to the emcees. At 9:15am, the crown of Rosaria will be placed on the head of the woman who will reign for the next year.
Bank of the West Grand Floral Walk / Following the Grand Floral Parade Route / June 8
The Bank of the West Grand Floral Walk brings out parade wannabes to warm up the crowd lining the streets in anticipation of the Grand Floral Parade. You and your friends and family can be the star of Portland's Party Parade as you walk and wave, show off your favorite costume, or push that decorated stroller with an enthusiastic audience cheering you on. You don't have to be able to ride a horse or play the drums - join the Grand Floral Walk and be the Grand Marshal of your own parade experience!
Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade / Memorial Coliseum to Downtown Portland / June 8
The Portland Rose Festival's signature event will start its 4.2-mile march starting by doing something no other parade in the world does - pass through a building! All floral floats take center stage surrounded by top-notch marching bands and flower-decked equestrian units. Reserved seats are available inside and outside Veterans Memorial Coliseum - purchase tickets. Hearty happy campers will line the parade route for this treasured Portland tradition, or you can watch from the comfort of your couch - the Grand Floral Parade is televised live on FOX 12 and PDX TV.
Creative Youth Awards / Hollywood Theatre / June 6
The Rose Festival Creative Youth Awards is all about sound and silence. The Rose Festival is holding an event to honor the best of the best in song and film from two events: the 2nd annual Rose City Sing-Off and the award-winning International Youth Silent Film Festival. Finalists' films are screened and the top vocal groups perform prior to the exciting presentation of awards. The show starts at 7 pm.
The Rose Festival satisfies the need for speed at the Rose Cup Races. Oregon Region SCCA racing and rally cross takes place all weekend, alongside the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West Series, the AAA Wemme Trophy for the fastest in the vintage class, and of course the race for the coveted Monte Shelton Rose Cup Trophy. The popular sport of Drifting takes over the track Friday and Saturday evening as well - for the second year in a row.
